Onda Verde's overall objective is to foster the conservation, maintenance, and recovery of local biodiversity through effective actions that contribute, through community awareness and participation, to improving the quality of life of people and the environment.
Through its restoration, maintenance, and reforestation projects, it has secured more than 250 hectares of Mata Atlântica at different stages of degradation in the Baixada Fluminense region, contributing to the protection of waterways and monitoring of biodiversity, along with capacity building for educators, students, environmental managers, and community leaders.
Since 1994, Onda Verde begins forest restoration and conservation projects, by planting up to almost 2 million trees all over the Baixada Fluminense and the state of Rio de Janeiro.
